Tomica Town - Auto Parking Gate

Product: Tomica Town - Auto Parking Gate (Japanese: トミカタウン オートパーキングゲート), released in 2003. Official retail price at the time was approx. ¥1,200 (tax excluded). A Tomica Town series diorama accessory with sound and light functions, produced by TOMY before its merger with TAKARA (the box carries the classic blue TOMY logo).

Where it was sold: A regular retail item sold broadly in Japan and overseas, including Toys"R"Us Hong Kong, department store toy counters and model shops, available for direct purchase; it was also available through online platforms such as Amazon Japan and Rakuten.

Features: Runs on 2 AAA batteries. When a model car approaches, the built-in sensor triggers a buzzer sound, the red light on top flashes and the gate automatically rises; the gate lowers again automatically after the car passes. The fee sign features the classic Japanese "30 minutes ¥150" parking rate marking.
