Plarail J-18 Sound Level Crossing

Product: Plarail J-18 Sound Level Crossing (Japanese: プラレール J-18 音入り踏切（NEW）), released in November 2002. Official retail price at the time was approx. ¥550-577 (tax excluded). A classic Plarail railway diorama accessory from the J series, produced by TOMY (box carries the old blue TOMY logo).

Where it was sold: A widely distributed regular track accessory, sold in Japan and overseas at toy stores and department stores, including Hong Kong department store toy counters, Toys"R"Us and traditional model shops, available for direct purchase.

Features: Mechanical sound mechanism with no batteries required, as marked on the box (乾電池は使用しません). When a Plarail train's wheels run over the crossing track, the purely mechanical structure inside produces the classic ringing "ding-ding (タン・タン)" warning sound.

Note: As marked in the red frame on the box (Vehicles are not included in the package / 車両は入っていません), the 300 Series Shinkansen train shown in the box art is not included.
